Light the Forge

Welcome to the first blog post on The Iron Summit Man! I am excited that you are here. Frankly, I am also terrified. My fear is that I put all this work into something that no one is going to read or find value from, however, I feel the need to do this.

Here is what I am seeing in this world right now – an attack on strong, capable, biblical manhood that has built our society. Men are confused, struggling, and not sure what direction to go. There is so much uncertainty in the world and men are feeling it. I see it all over the news – you know what I am talking about, we don’t even need to give examples.

Many are seeing a need to step up and do something about it but I am finding some of that lacking. What I see are sources trying to bolt-on solutions without changing the core of how men are feeling and being. We have to work on our foundations, our structure, and our hearts.

How do we do this?

By asking ourselves important questions and being willing to be vulnerable. We must be willing to accept the hard truth that we are not the men we want to be. All the books, course, and training we have taken have not gotten to the core of removing the impurities in our lives. We must put ourselves in the crucible, be willing to be melted down, have the impurities burned off, and emerge as stronger iron.

This journey, this quest will test you, this climb toward the summit will never end. That is what I feel like is happening in some of the content out there – the summit will appear if you do this work. That is a lie. We will never reach the summit in this life, but we can create iron in ourselves to help us continue to climb toward the summit. The climb never ends.

Because the climb never ends, we need a team, a tribe, a group – we need a brotherhood that will be on the climb with us. We need a brotherhood that will be there on the climb with us as we ask the tough questions, as we pour on the heat, and hammer away at the impurities of our lives. It will be difficult, it might even hurt, but your brothers will be there right with you on this climb.

As a martial artist, I teach my students about the quest to Black Belt Mountain. It is a mountain that has a number of struggles, challenges, and stages. The Quest for the Iron Summit is much the same, it is a struggle and it is a challenge, you will become a different person on the quest.

Are you ready to light the forge?

Are you ready to take the steps to become the man that your wife, children, and community deserve?

Are you ready to reforge yourself into a new modern dad ready to be the iron for your family?

Join me, brother.
